The noted personality of Kannada cinema with over 55 years of service Shivaramanna (Guruswamy of this Ayyappa season – it is more than 75 times visit of Shivaramanna to Shabarimalai) has returned his trip with four blind and four dumb and deaf under ‘Samarthana’ flagship.

It is 50 days visit to USA and UK with cultural programs from eight physically handicap children. Shivaramanna has been part of this social activity and truly on Gandhian principles he has treated the blind cleaning them when circumstances came up in his foreign trip.

San Fransico, California, Washington, Bosco, Detroit, New York are the place in USA and in UK it was at places like Shakespeare locality, Windsor Castle (a few portions replica of Bengaluru Palace) and his time with ducks carrying pounds of bread was also unique. He visited the house of GSS son in Chestfold and stayed for three days. Shivaramanna took part in a seminar and gave lecture on cinema and literature that was attended by Venkateshamurthy, YK Muddukrishna and Dr Putthuraya professor of physiology.

Shivaramanna at this 70 plus age has taken 2000 photographs and some of them he intends to bring it in exhibition. A few hundred of pictures would definitely showcase the cleanliness and system of approach in social life. This could be inculcated by us he feels.

At one of the airports Shivaramanna was detained for no proper documents to board flight. The Adhar Card, Voter ID cards in his pockets did not come to help. It was only after he told that he is an artist it took a little time to get him cleared from the spot.

The programs he conducted with eight physically handicap will be available at Cultural Center in Jayanagara 4th block.

The joke from Shivaramanna on ‘Itkothivi’ is interesting. There are some high strata people who just want his one day stay. Just they want to add his name to the list in the diary Shivaramanna came to know later on.

The Balaji Temple Complex in Birmingham was also notable one in the memory of Shivaramanna. He wants to bring his 50 days experience in a book format. It takes many months he says.
